Welcome Everyone to a "NEW" addition to the "Soft in the Head" family “Soft in the Head Hauntings”! This blog will be devoted entirely to my love of Halloween and everything Halloween and the inner “trickster” that exists in all of us! I will debut new Halloween characters and their stories here, quirky stories from my childhood and funny and often “bloopers” of my everyday life road. I hope you will find some time to follow the "Haunting Happenings" here at "Soft in the Head Hauntings".....

~~~I'll bet living in a nudist colony takes all the fun out of Halloween. ~~~
I Still Laugh.....
Remember Disney's "Sleepy Hollow"?
If you have NEVER seen this I would definitely run out and buy it, rent it or netflix it.....Growing up with Disney
was like breathing for me and I can still remember
the first time I watched this
and listening to Bing Crosby's narration and song. This short little
animated flick resurfaces my childhood memories with such magic and laughter!
We brought our own kids up with a tradition of watching this on Halloween while we drank apple cider and munched ourselves into popcorn comas. I am now hoping that I can share the experience and story of "Icabod Crane" and the "Headless Horseman" with my own grandchildren.
Enjoy a few images and Bing Crosby's song and go out and pick this up....or I will send the "Headless Horseman" your way....BOO!
You're dating yourself Pam.
I always got goosebumps from the 'Scarecrow' series that Disney used to show.
As always your little creations are devoted to inspiring intrigue and delight for the child within us!
PS ~ A witchy mouse in the works perhaps?
Pam,
Thanks so much for reminding me of some very fond memories. I always loved Ichabod and the very fair Katrina. After reading your blog I went in the pantry and rummaged around in my old VCR box and dug out Ichabod. It's on a tape with the story of Mr. Toad from The Wind in the Willows stories, narrated by Basil Rathbone of Sherlock Holmes fame. We played it tonight for my grandchildren, they loved it!
Thanks again! I love your Soft in the Head Hauntings and I'm looking forward to keeping up with all your news!
Pam,
Sunday was the only day during the year that you could find me off the bike and back home long before the street lights came on to watch Disney. My favorite- Charlie the lonesome Cougar and anything with Patrick Wayne! Swooning!
Thanks for the trip to down the way back when...
I love The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. The village of Sleepy Hollow is only about 30 minutes from me.
Disney has some really wonderful classics that fall by the wayside, I remember being scared by this when I was little... and LOVING IT!
I am also sad that's it's always so hard to find "The Worst Witch"... another Halloween special from my youth.
Also... I see you're reading Laurell K. Hamilton! Have you just started the Anita Blake series? ... if so... I have words of warning for books later in that series! Eeep!
